Maysdesigns is Tyler Mays, a Brooklyn-based product designer who's been at this for 11 years and still loves it.
He's currently a Principal Product Designer at Spara, where he designs AI products and thinks a lot about interfaces, design systems, and what makes B2B software actually feel good to use. Introduced to fine arts as a kid and trained at Savannah College of Art and Design, his work tends to pair utilitarian patterns with bold visuals — a habit he picked up early and never quite shook.
He got his start at IBM iX, where he learned what it means to design at scale, and has since spent time at LeafLink and Inturn. Additionally, he was a staffed freelance illustrator for Scoot, the Bay Area scooter-sharing startup, back when that felt like the future. Scoot was acquired by Bird in 2019. He's always tinkering with new tools and ways of working — partly out of curiosity, partly because he's allergic to doing things the slow way.
When he's not designing, he's dribbbling and sketching, running and biking, getting lost in a Spotify rabbit hole, or reading.
